When I started to use social networking sites, I thought if I submit good content that will be rated high. I was trying to submit URLs with the high quality content. But it doesn’t get enough ratings as I expected. After that I wanted to test whether high quality content become popular or not. So what I did was, got some hot content in Digg and submitted to Mixx and did other way from Mixx to Digg also. But in both the way, the content is not rated much. So finally got to know that becoming popular in the social networking is not all about hot content. There should be something more to check.

So as the next move, I focused only on Digg rather than spending much time in all the sites. I was digging the content that I feel good and started adding many friends. So some users regularly check that who has Digg their content and giving enough Digg in return. That helped much to bring some extra Diggs than unusual. Even though, I felt that was not enough.

So I started sending Shouts in Digg once I submitted the contents. But for sending Shouts I didn’t have enough friends. Even if I add lot friends, if they didn’t add me as friend (If not mutual friend) can’t send shout. So I deleted the friends who don’t add me after waiting some weeks, and added new friends for getting more mutual friends. After I have got enough mutual friends, it was easy to get much Digg for an average content. I think this is the way to become popular in Social networking.

You should do the following for becoming popular in Digg.

1. Get much mutual friends
2. Regularly check and Digg interesting content at least from your friends.
3. Send Shouts to your friends once you submit the content.
4. Wait and watch for your submission coming up..
